EuroFIT has been featured as a Success Story on the European Commission’s Research and Innovation website!
EuroFIT’s overall aim is to build new social partnerships between football clubs, fans and researchers that harness the power of football to deliver an innovative public health programme. This project is extremely exciting and ambitious – it could be adapted for all sorts of other groups, and lead to positive lifestyle changes in men, their families and wider social networks across Europe.
– Prof. Sally Wyke, EuroFIT Coordinator

The team had a very productive meeting in Manchester, 10 – 11 Nov 2015, hosted by Healthy Stadia. We discussed validation of the SitFIT device, results of the feasibility assessment of the EuroFIT programme in Everton and progress of the randomised controlled trial of the EuroFIT programme now underway in the Netherlands, UK and Portugal. Planning for the next phase of the project, replication of the programme in new clubs, was also a key focus of the meeting.
Doing our best to sit less and move more – we even had a standing lunch!
Norwegian broadcaster (NRK) wrote about EuroFIT yesterday in an article “Supporters will be slimmed”, asking the question “What do Arsenal, Everton, Manchester City and Rosenborg, Strømsgodset and Vålerenga have in common?”.
