The team includes members from the Radboud Institute for Health Sciences, Scientific Center for Quality of Healthcare (IQ healthcare), who will develop an implementation plan for replication and implementation of the EuroFIT program beyond the funded project. The Institute has world leading expertise in implementation science, ensuring uptake and reach of evidence-based interventions.

Prof. Ria Nijhuis-van der Sanden, PT, PhD

Research Interests: Ria Nijhuis-van der Sanden is a physical therapist and professor of Allied Health Sciences at the Radboud Institute for Health Sciences. Her research focuses on clinically relevant, safe, efficient and cost-effective interventions in allied healthcare, public health and sports with a special interest in behavioural change and related environmental barriers and facilitators.

Role in Project: Ria and her team are leading the wider implementation of the EuroFIT program to facilitate a sustainable implementation and replication beyond the funded research project.

Dr. Irene van de Glind

Research Interests: Irene van de Glind has been trained as a public administration scientist and as a health scientist. Her research focuses on evaluating and implementing complex interventions, with a specific interest in health promotion, self-management and implementation science. She is an expert in qualitative research, case study research, process evaluation studies and consensus methods for health services research.

Role in Project: Irene will develop and study an implementation plan for wide-scale replication and implementation of the EuroFIT program across elite football clubs in Europe.
